She Married Jacob Sayler in 1894 in Russia. This union was blessed with 10 children, of whom three preceded the mother in death. In 1902, the family came to the United States and settled 7 miles northwest of Garrison, North Dakota. In September 1921, the dear Lord took her husband into the hereafter. She was a widow for 29 years and had the responsibility of her family's growing up years. She was a faithful member of our Klostitz Church at Garrison. Since 1929 her home was in Garrison. She passed away in the belief of her Lord and God on Tuesday evening, March 14, 1950 at age 78 years, 7 months and 15 days. The reason for her death, a heart attack. Survivors include: Sophia Rivinius of Ridgeview, S. Dakota, Jacob Sayler and Gust Sayler both of Garrison, Bertha Hoffer of Turtle Lake, Edward Sayler, Lydia Fast and Frieda Schlichting, all of Garrison; 17 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; brother, William Klundt in Beulah, N. Dakota and other relatives and friends. The funeral was at the English Congregational Church. May the Lord comfort and strengthen the survivors in their beliefs and grant them a happy reunion. Huber, Pastor ================================ Sophia KLUNDT born 27 July 1871 in Rohrbach, Beresan, Odessa, South Russia was the daughter of Heinrich William KLUNDT (1829-1912) and Maria RIEDLINGER (1935-1903). Sophia married Jacob SAYLER Sr. in May 1894 in Johannestal, Beresan, Odessa, South Russia. This union was blessed with 10 children; Jacob, Sophia, Katharina, Jacob, Gustav, Lydia, Bertha, Edward, Lydia and Freda (3 died in infancy; 1 in Russia, 2 in America). Sophia at age 30 with Jacob parent's family, her husband Jacob and their children; Sophia and Katharina, sailed from the port of Bremen, Germany on the 3rd of June 1902 and arrived at Ellis Island, New York aboard the SS "Kaiser Wilhelm der Grosse" on the 9th of Jun 1902. The family settled on a homestead in McGinnis Township 5½ miles northwest of Garrison, McLean County, North Dakota (¼ Sec 18, Twp 149N, Rge 84W, W5).
