They have 6 kids together, the two girls dying before their mother. Sophia Fish outlives her husband by 15 years, dying in 1936 at age 74. * * * * SOPHIA M. FISH Sophia M. Vogelsang was born Dec. 12, 1861, in Clayton county, Iowa, and passed away at her son's home July 3, 1936. In the Fairview community at the age of 74 years, 6 months and 21 days. She was married to Alford (sic) Fish April 29, 1884. To this union six children were born, Ellsworth, Ray, Tena, Worthy, George and Mina. Two children, Tena and Mina preceded their mother in death. Mrs Fish was Baptized August 20, 1922, by the Rev. Z.K. Russell then pastor of the Christian at Arlington, Iowa. Her husband died in 1924. She went to Oregon in Feb.1926, and has made her home with her son, George since that time. She is survived by three (sic) children, W.D. Fish, Glendale, Cal., Ellsworth and Ray of Jefferson, Iowa, Geo. W. of Lebanon, Oregon, and two brothers Herman Vogelsang, Hillsboro, Ore. and Henry Vogelsang, Arlington, Iowa. Funeral services were held at the N.C. Lowe Mortuary Chapel in Lebanon at 2 o'clock, Monday July 6, with Rev. Claude Stevens officiating. The remains were then shipped to Arlington, Iowa for internment with her son George accompanying the remains. Funeral services were held here Friday afternoon at the Gleim funeral parlors. Rev. A.B. Chamberlain spoke words of comfort to the berieved family and offered prayer at the grave. Internment in the family lot in Taylorville cemetery. (Obit in the Arlington News, July 16, 1936, page 1)
