Description	:	Mrs. Sophia Crouse 1940 Bridgewater Bulletin North Middle LaHave- There passed away at her home here, on Monday, May 6th, Mrs. Sophia Crouse, a very respected citizen of North Middle LaHave. She was the daughter of the late Solomon and Emma Mailman, of Lower Branch. She was 74 years of age and was ill only a short time and her death was a great shock to her many friends. The deceased was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Middle LaHave. She was a loving mother and devoted her life to her family and was the friend of all who made her... Read More	Mrs. Sophia Crouse 1940 Bridgewater Bulletin North Middle LaHave- There passed away at her home here, on Monday, May 6th, Mrs. Sophia Crouse, a very respected citizen of North Middle LaHave. She was the daughter of the late Solomon and Emma Mailman, of Lower Branch. She was 74 years of age and was ill only a short time and her death was a great shock to her many friends. The deceased was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Middle LaHave. She was a loving mother and devoted her life to her family and was the friend of all who made her acquaintance. Her late husband, Simon Crouse, predeceased her thirty years ago. She is survived by seven children, three daughters and four sons- Ida, Mrs. Arthur Hofman of Ballardvale, Mass.; Millie, Mrs. John Emeneau, Bedford, Mass.; Annie and Paul, at home; James, North Middle LaHave; Moyle and John at Lunenburg. Two sisters survive, Ida, Mrs. M.J. Smith, Medford, Mass.; Hannah, Mrs. Albert Smith, Lower Branch. One sister died in infancy. There are four living brothers- Ralph and Ruby Mailman, Lower Branch; Hallet Mailman, Midville Branch; Edward Mailman, Hants County. Three brothers predeceased her several years ago. She has eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The funeral service was conducted at her home by Rev.H.N. Lossing, on Wednesday, May 8th ,at 3:30 p.m. Interment was at the family cemetery. Favourite hymns were sung, "Rock of Ages," "Nearer MY God to Thee," and "Peace, Perfect Peace." Thanks to Rosemary Rafuse
