Description	:	Wayne County Democrat Nov. 10, 1921 Obituary Miss Sophie Rieser was born in Baden, Germany, Sept. 29, 1834, and came to this country with her parents at the age of eleven years, and settled in the state of Ohio. At the age of eighteen she was united in marriage to Samuel Meyers, and to this union was born eleven children, three of which preceded her in death. Read More	Wayne County Democrat Nov. 10, 1921 Obituary Miss Sophie Rieser was born in Baden, Germany, Sept. 29, 1834, and came to this country with her parents at the age of eleven years, and settled in the state of Ohio. At the age of eighteen she was united in marriage to Samuel Meyers, and to this union was born eleven children, three of which preceded her in death. In the year of 1877 she came with her husband and children to Iowa, settling on a farm near Cambria, and has resided in this vicinity wince that time. The last few years of her life were spent with her daughter, Mrs. Emma Hutchinson of this place. Mrs. Meyers was in usual health the night of her death, retiring as usual Saturday night. She passed away very suddenly at four A.M. Sunday. She is survived by eight children, five daughters and three sons; Mrs. Emma Hutchinson of Cambria, Iowa; Mrs. A.F. Place, of Cambria, Iowa; George Meyers, of Cambria, Iowa; Mrs. Caroline Chaffin, of Hutchinson, Kansas; Mrs. Lizzie Heinlie, of Bucyrus, Ohio; Mrs. Mary Sweinhart, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio; Fred Meyers, of Mansfield, Ohio; Frank Meyers, of Falls City, Neb., Mrs. Meyers is survived by twenty-three grandchildren, also one sister, Mrs. Caroline Kern of Bucyrus, Ohio. Her husband passed away Dec. 2, 1881. When quite young she united with the Lutheran Church, and has always kept that faith. The funeral was held at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Emma Hutchinson, in Cambria, Ia., on Thursday, Sept. 18, 1921. Her departure was mourned by many. Crowds of her life-long friends were present to pay their last tribute to their well loved friend and neighbor. It was with sadness we followed her to the grave, yet it was with joy we thought of a life given to God, and as she often said, she was only waiting God's time for her to go. Rev. E.A. Place of Leon, Ia. officiated at the funeral, being a former pastor and friend of Mrs. Meyers and children. Interment was made in the Kirby Cemetery at Cambria.
