Description	:	NORFOLK — Services for Larry Bear, 72, Norfolk, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 10, at Brockhaus-Howser-Fillmer Funeral Home in Norfolk. John Petersen will officiate with burial in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Norfolk. Military honors will be provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1644, American Legion Post 16, Army National Guard Honor Guard and American Legion Riders. He died Monday, April 30, 2018, at his residence. 1945-2018 Larry Neil Bear, son of Norman and Violet (Ducker) Bear, was born July 19, 1945, at Winnebago. He attended Niobrara Public School. Larry entered the U.S. Army and was enlisted from June 14, 1966, until he was honorably discharged on May 27, 1968. He served in the Vietnam War as a medic. He was blessed with three children, Andrew, Theodora and William. Larry was a member of the Ponca Tribe. He liked spending time with family, cooking and baking. He also enjoyed Westerns, horse shoes and reading. He was quite the jokester. No matter how down on his luck Larry was, he still had a big heart. Everyone was welcome at his house for food and beer. Larry is survived by his children, Andrew Lehman-Bear, Theodora Medel and William Wright; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother, Donnie Bair. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Patty and Elaine; four brothers, Norman, Stanley, Dick and Greg; and two infant brothers.
