Description	:	COMSTOCK — Staden Eldon “Ted” Erikson, 95, of Comstock passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017, at his home in Comstock. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at the Wescott Baptist Church at Comstock with Pastor Don Schauda officiating. Burial will be in the Douglas Grove Cemetery west of Comstock. Military honors will be presented by the Comstock American Legion Post #220. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Read More	COMSTOCK — Staden Eldon “Ted” Erikson, 95, of Comstock passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017, at his home in Comstock. Staden Eldon was born Nov. 30, 1921, on the family farm in Custer County, southwest of Comstock, to Solomon and Annabell (Christensen) Erikson. He was raised on the family farm and graduated from Comstock High School in 1940. In 1941, Ted enlisted in the United States Navy. He served on an attack cargo ship in the South Pacific and Mediterranean seas during World War II. He was discharged in September of 1945. On April 28, 1946, Ted was united in marriage to Joy Doan at Grand Island. The couple lived in Grand Island for two years before settling on the family farm west of Comstock. Ted farmed with his brother, Dick, until his retirement. Ted and Joy moved into town from the farm and made their home in Comstock for the last 30 years. Ted was a member of the Wescott Baptist Church; American Legion Post #220 of Comstock; the Ord VFW; and a past member of the Ord Elks Lodge. He was a master gardener and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially all the grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Joy of Comstock; two daughters and sons-in-law, Eileen and Glenn Hovie of Kearney and Penny and Ron Janus of Northglenn, Colo.; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Erikson of Comstock. He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Roe Allen; two sisters, Eleanor Dowse and Theresa Dunbar; and two brothers, Don and Dick Erikson.
