They were married March 28th 1827, but she died from typhoid fever less than three months later. Stanfield's second wife was Frances Byron Douglas of Port Royal in Caroline County. They were wed January 31st, 1829. Stanfield and Frances had four to six children. Stanfield's third wife was Elizabeth Peed.
