Description	:	Stanley B. Rund, age 70, of Hayti, SD, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018 at the Lake Norden Care & Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the New Hope Lutheran Church in Hayti with Reverend Randy Eisenbeisz officiating. Helen Prouty will be the organist. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services on Thursday at the church. Burial will be in the New Hope Lutheran Cemetery, Hayti, SD. Stanley Bruce Rund was born on June 17, 1947 to Severt and Beatrice (Kornmann) Rund in Watertown, SD. He grew up on a farm northwest of Hayti and attended grade school at a country school in Opdahl Township. He then graduated from Hayti High School in 1966. Stanley lived on the family farm and worked for Chet's Gravel Company for 30 years and then worked for B & E Repair until retiring. He became a resident of the Lake Norden Care & Rehabilitation Center in 2011. He was a lifelong member of New Hope Lutheran Church where he was baptized and confirmed. He also served on the New Hope Cemetery board for many years. Stanley enjoyed riding motorcycle and was always interested in cars. The car he loved was an oldsmobile with a 442 engine which he drove everywhere and was always in a hurry to get somewhere. Stanley is survived by his nephew, Scott Vrchota of San Francisco, CA, his niece, Debbie Kenly of Arakelian, NM, and several cousins.
