Schmidt-Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Stanley married Barbara Utz on September 8, 1957 in Denver. Donna Jean Kohlmeier of Yuma was the maid of honor, and her mother cut the cake. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ STANLEY CLEO "STAN" FISHER Cleo Fisher was born on June 28, 1930 in New York City to Cleo and Philip Fisher. On May 9, 2013. Cleo's spirit left her body to go to be with the Lord in Heaven, forever. Her formal education was acquired in Harlem N.Y. where she grew up. She graduated from high school in Harlem and went on to attend Hunter College. She met a young man, Stanley Edwards Fures and they later eloped to Maryland with their families attending. They were later blessed with one daughter, Denise. Growing tired of being a stay at home mom, she ventured out into the working world, unbeknownst to Stanley. Upon learning of her employment he directed her to join I.B.M. where she remained employed for many years, retiring in November of 1988. They moved to Teaneck N.J. where they remained for many years. She devoted herself to mentoring woman with the Urban League in her later years at I.B.M and after retiring. She also worked with and enjoyed her time at Redeeming Love Christian Center and her church family. But most of all she found joy in her grandsons, who resided in Livingston where she later moved. She was the carpooling grand mom who cherished and adored her three grandsons. She enjoyed traveling all over the world throughout her life and fellowshipping with her friends. She will be greatly missed- a wonderful mother, a faithful friend and servant. Those remaining to remember Cleo Fisher Fures with love, respect and appreciation are: her daughter, Denise Fures-Martin, son-in-law,Gregory L. Martin, grandsons: Gregory L. Martin II, Jonathan Martin, and Zachary Martin, a brother, Philip Fisher(Pat) of Bembrook Texas, and sisters Mildred Harris of Atlanta, Ga, and Ann Logan of Roswell, Ga, as well as a host of family and friends. According to Ephesians 5:22 " The Fruit of the Spirit is Love, Joy, Peace, Longsuffering, Gentleness, Goodness, Faith, Meekness, and Temperance". All of these were embodied in the person of Cleo Fisher Fures. If Cleo could speak to us here today, she would surely say what the Apostle Paul said to Timothy: " for I am ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand". I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give to me at that day, and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing". II Timothy 45:6-8.
