Description	:	Stanley D. Openlander, 88, of Malinta, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Laurels of Defiance on Saturday, June 30, 2018. He was born on January 17, 1930 to the late Van and Nova (Johnston) Openlander of Napoleon. On December 8, 1961 he married the love of his life, Geraldine Orthwein, who preceded him in death on September 4, 2015. Stanley was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Flatrock TWP. He worked for Campbell Soup Company from 1957 to 1993. In his earlier years Stanley was also a farmer. Stanley enjoyed collecting tractors and attending tractor and antique gun shows.... On December 8, 1961 he married the love of his life, Geraldine Orthwein, who preceded him in death on September 4, 2015. Stanley was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Flatrock TWP. He worked for Campbell Soup Company from 1957 to 1993. In his earlier years Stanley was also a farmer. Stanley enjoyed collecting tractors and attending tractor and antique gun shows. He liked gardening flowers and bird watching. He also like to travel; he frequently visited Williamsburg, VA. The one thing he enjoyed the most was spending time with his family. Stanley was loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed. Stanley is survived by his son, Jan (Dale) Openlander and grandchildren, Mitchell, Samuel and Bethany Openlander. He is also survived by his sister, Ann Baur. He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Van and Nova Openlander, beloved wife, Geraldine Openlander and his caring son, Kurt Openlander. Graveside services for Stanley will take place on, Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Flatrock TWP
