Stanley was born October 13, 1952 in Iola, Kansas the son of Murry A. and Betty Jo (Robb) Tawney. He grew up at LaHarpe and Iola and graduated from Iola High School in 1971. He has worked for Haldex in Iola and Nu-Way in Chanute. Stanley attended the First Baptist Church in Chanute, Kansas. Survivors include one uncle, John Robb and wife, Hazel of Humboldt, KS; two aunts, Dorothy Hemphill of Derby, KS, and Roberta Jean of Cape Girardeau, MO; and a number of cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Murry L. Tawney. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola, KS. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Iola, Kansas. Memorials suggested to First Baptist Church of Chanute, Kansas, and may be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola, KS, which is in charge of arrangements. ***********************
