He attained the age of 74 years, ten months and 14 days. Stanley E. Johnson was born on a farm south of Lennox, SD, on Apr. 20, 1925, a son of Ed and Julia Johnson. He grew up in the West Prairie area, attending rural school and Lennox High School. He was united in marriage to Irene Wallenstein on May 8, 1944 at Lennox. Following their marriage they farmed near Lennox until May of 1961, when they moved to Sioux Falls. He was employed as Mill Superintendent for G.T.A. Feeds. They moved to Lennox in 1977. His wife died Dec. 8, 1982, and he continued to live in Lennox. He was united in marriage to Mabel Fischer on Aug. 3, 1985, in West Prairie Church, and the couple made their home in Lennox their entire married Life. Mr. Johnson was diagnosed with cancer in Sep. of 1999. Preceding him in death were his father in 1928; his mother in 1944; his wife, Irene, in 1982; and two brothers: Gilbert and Albert Johnson. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife and best friend, Mabel; two children and their spouses; Edwin and Rose Johnson of Lennox, Sharon and Gaylord Hansen of Hartford, SD; eight step-children and their spouses; Joyce and Kenard Simonsen of Chancellor, SD, Earl and Kyra Fischer of Lennox, Jolene and Douglas Berens of Chancellor, Nancy Boyd of Hurley, SD, Eldonna and Randy Hanisch, Wayne and Amy Fischer, Harlay and Lisa Fischer, all of Lennox and MaryJo and Tim Hooten of Idaho Falls, ID.
