Description	:	Stanley "Jump" Reit, 64 Stanley "Jump" Reit died Monday, February 3, 1997, at the Luverne Community Hospital. Stanley was born February 29, 1932, near Rowena the son of John and Jennie Reit. He grew up and attended school in Rowena. Stan then went to work on a farm near Luverne, Minnesota. Read More	Stanley "Jump" Reit, 64 Stanley "Jump" Reit died Monday, February 3, 1997, at the Luverne Community Hospital. Stanley was born February 29, 1932, near Rowena the son of John and Jennie Reit. He grew up and attended school in Rowena. Stan then went to work on a farm near Luverne, Minnesota. In 1955, he moved to Sioux Falls and began work at Morrell's. Standard married Darlene Powell on January 13, 1956, in Beaver Creek. They made their home in Sioux Falls until 1961 when they moved to Garretson until 1975 when they bought a farm north of Colman. Stan retired from Morrell's in 1978 and farmed full-time. He retired from farming in 1983 and moved to Dell Rapids. Stan worked for Wade Construction for one year and then became a maintenance employee at the airport in Sioux Falls. He retired from there in March 1993 because of ill health. Stan became a resident of Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne in 1995. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Darlene of Dell Rapids; his two sons, Wayne, and his wife, Donna of Volga, and Alan, and his wife Donna of Dell Rapids; his two daughters, Mrs. Jeff (Donna) Bent and Bob (Joan) Evans, both of Dell Rapids; 11 grandchildren; three brothers, Harold of Des Moines, Iowa, Richard of Sioux Falls, and Herman of Harrisburg; for sisters: Mrs. Gerrit (Tillie) Zwak of Sioux Falls, Mrs. Frank (Edna) Steineke of Hartford, Mrs. Joyce Hayes of Sioux Falls, and Mrs. Darwin (Jane) Unzelman of Sioux Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Lynn, one a granddaughter, one brother and one sister. Funeral service was held at United Methodist Chruch, Dell Rapids, on February 7, 1997, with Pastor Darrell Leach officiating. Organist was Ken Mannes and soloist was Ray Peterson. Casket bearers were Ron Steineke, Dennis Steineke, Steve Hayes, Darrell Hoiland, Sam Hoiland and Randy Hoiland. Interment was at Pleasant View Cemetery, Valley Springs. Military rights were conducted by the Dell Rapids American Legion. Funeral arrangements were handled by Kahler Funeral Home, Dell Rapids.
