Description	:	Stanley Ellsworth Rube, 72, of Garner, N.C., formerly of Cape Carteret, N.C., died Friday, June 18, 2010, at Raleigh Rehabilitation Center, Raleigh, N.C. He was born on July 11, 1937, in Keokuk, the son of John Herman Rube and Vivian Marie Brodsky. After attending Argyle High School, he served 20 years in the United States Navy, retiring as a senior chief petty officer. He served in many places, including three tours in Vietnam. Read More	Stanley Ellsworth Rube, 72, of Garner, N.C., formerly of Cape Carteret, N.C., died Friday, June 18, 2010, at Raleigh Rehabilitation Center, Raleigh, N.C. He was born on July 11, 1937, in Keokuk, the son of John Herman Rube and Vivian Marie Brodsky. After attending Argyle High School, he served 20 years in the United States Navy, retiring as a senior chief petty officer. He served in many places, including three tours in Vietnam. After retiring from the military, he worked with and retired from the North Carolina Department of Labor's pre-apprenticeship division. He served in the Swansboro United Methodist Church Men's Club for many years prior to joining Cape Carteret Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. Survivors include: his second wife, Naomi Ruth Brown Rube of Fort Madison; five sons, Stanley Ellsworth Rube II of Whitefish, Mont.,¸ Terry Lee Rube of Samson County, N.C., Robert Lane Rube of Garner, John Horace Rube and his wife, Patricia, of Apex, N.C., and Joshua Arthur Rube of Fayetteville, N.C.; three daughters, Anne Marcine LaRoque and her husband, Michael, of Kalispell, Mont., Stacey Renee Sayles and her husband, William, of Cranston, R.I., and Bonnie Maria Schwerd and her husband, David, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; as well as 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Ellen Marcine White Rube; a sister, Delpha Mae Leazer, of Argyle; and a niece, Marilyn Staley of Keokuk. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Carteret County, N.C. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Seabee Museum or the Parkinson's Foundation.
