Description	:	United States Marine Corps – 1008325 Private First Class (PFC) Stanley Fidge, son of Nels Johnson Fidge, was born October 22, 1922 on a farm near Alfred, North Dakota. At age 23, Stanley volunteered for military service and his date of induction and active service within the United States Marine Corp was March 9, 1946. Stanley’s place of entry into active service was in Hilo, Hawaii just after WWII and Pearl Harbor as a General Stockman 735. At age 23, Stanley volunteered for military service and his date of induction and active service within the United States Marine Corp was March 9, 1946. Stanley’s place of entry into active service was in Hilo, Hawaii just after WWII and Pearl Harbor as a General Stockman 735. Stanley received an honorable discharge and separated from active service on November 28, 1947 in Great Lakes, Illinios. Stanley before volunteering for active duty military service assisted his father as a farm hand with Nels Johnson Fidge from Norway in operating a 900 acre grain farm in Alfred, North Dakota along with his brothers including John Neil Fidge, Thorlief Walles Fidge, Palmer Fidge, and Gordon Fidge. Stanley’s last employment was in November of 1944 before joining the United States Marine Corp. Stanley had an 8th grade Grammar education and his courses of greatest interest were related to history. Stanley Fidge married Deloris Flaig and they had 4 children as follows: Ottis Nels Fidge, Madelynn Fidge (Newmann), Brenda Fidge (Buettenback), and Bonnie Fidge (Schwertzer). Stanley Fidge passed away on December 24, 1962 at 40 years of age and is buried at Highland’s cemetery in his home state of Jamestown, North Dakota.
