His mother resides at Gibbon and he visited her there a few weeks ago while taking a lay off on account of the illness that continued to trouble him to the end. He was married six or seven years ago to Miss Nannie Huston, a daughter of T. Huston of Chelsea township. Mr. and Mrs. Morrow had no children. Mr. Morrow was appointed carrier of Geneva mail Route No. 3 when the route was first established and continued to discharge the duties of the place until illness compelled him to put on a substitute several weeks ago. Since then Robert Carson has been serving as substitute. Mr. Morrow was a pleasant and companionable man and all who knew him were his friends. He was upright in his business dealings. Mr. Morrow was a member of the Modern Woodmen and that order will have charge of the funeral arrangements. These arrangements had not been completed when The Signal went to press last evening. The Nebraska Signal August 31, 1906 page 1. ALSO: The remains of Stanley Morrow, who took his life last Thursday forenoon in a fit of mental depression, were laid to rest in the Geneva Cemetery Saturday. A large number of people were in attendance at the funeral, which was conducted by Rev. L. G. Parker. Music was furnished by the Methodist choir. The Modern Woodmen had charge of the funeral arrangements. Members of old Company G acted as pallbearers. The funeral took place from the deceased’s late residents on north Church Street at 10 a.m. The following relatives came from Gibbon; the family home to attend the funeral: Mrs. Narcissa Morrow, widowed mother of the deceased; Misses Blanche and Nora Morrow and Walter and John Morrow, sisters and brothers of the deceased. Another brother is in Mexico and another sister, Mrs. Charles Allen, resides at Cozad. Mrs. Morrow and her sons left for their homes Saturday, the sisters remaining here until Monday with Mrs. Nannie Morrow, who was utterly prostrated by the shock of her husband’s sudden death. The Nebraska Signal September 7th, 1906 page 6. ALSO: Stanley Forrest Patterson Morrow was born at Hillsboro, Ohio, November 18, 1869. He came to Nebraska in 1882, settling in Buffalo County. He came to Geneva in 1891 and engaged in business with his brother-in-law, H. A. VanNice, at what was known as the Corner Grocery. This business was sold and the partnership dissolved when Mrs. VanNice died. Mr. Morrow enlisted in the service of the United States, June 21, 1898, as a member of Company G, First Nebraska, and received an honorable discharge from the service August 23, 1899. He was married to Miss Nannie Huston March 15, 1900. His wife survives him. They had no children. The Nebraska Signal September 7th, 1906 page 6. Spanish American War Veteran.
