Description	:	Stanley A. Sabatka, 77, of Weston died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Saunders County Care Center in Wahoo. He was born Oct. 28, 1930, in rural Ceresco to Mathew and Helen (Handler) Sabatka. He attended country school District 49 and later was a graduate of Valparaiso High School in 1947. They lived for eight years on a farm near Ceresco. He became a... Read More	Stanley A. Sabatka, 77, of Weston died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Saunders County Care Center in Wahoo. He was born Oct. 28, 1930, in rural Ceresco to Mathew and Helen (Handler) Sabatka. He attended country school District 49 and later was a graduate of Valparaiso High School in 1947. They lived for eight years on a farm near Ceresco. They moved to their farm south of Weston on March 10, 1966, where he farmed and was a cattle and hog producer. He did a lot of carpenter work in Lincoln and the local community in 1956 and 1957. He became a member of the Carpenters Union Local 1055 in Lincoln and maintained his membership. He also was a dealer for Conrad American grain bins and worked at the NFO Livestock Collection Point when it began in Wahoo. He was a parishioner at St. John Nepomucene Church and a former choir member there. He also was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1833, a member of the National Farmers Organization, a drummer in the band, Milton’s Melody Five, and was good bowler for the Hakel Oil Co. bowling team. He was preceded in death by two brothers. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Weston with the Rev. Thomas Brouillette officiating. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Svoboda Funeral Home in Wahoo and after 6 p.m. at the church with a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time Monday at the church. Burial will be in Znojemsky Cemetery in Weston. Memorials have been established to the Parkinson Disease Association, St. John School and for Masses.
