Description	:	Stein Wilhelm Hasselbalch was born in Denmark on September 1845. He came to the United States in July 1887, settling first in Columbus, Platte County, Nebraska, where he remained until 1889 when he settled in Polk County, 8 miles north of Shelby following the occupation of farming. In March 1904 he moved to Dawson County remaining there for six years. He then moved to Omaha, Nebraska where he lived. Read More	Stein Wilhelm Hasselbalch was born in Denmark on September 1845. In March 1904 he moved to Dawson County remaining there for six years. He then moved to Omaha, Nebraska where he lived. After an illness of five weeks he passed a way to the world beyond at 12:45 a.m. on February 24th, 1912 age 66 years, 4 months, and 29 days. In the year 1878 he was married Emma Carolina Monk. To this union eleven children were born of which eight are living. Those living are Elizabeth, Fredericka, Helena, Mary, William, Gerda, Nels and Ella of whom seven were present at the funeral. The deceased was a great lover of of his home and family and his chief desire was to make the home a comfortable and pleasant He was a man of excellent judgement in business affairs and was very successful in conducting his business. His pleasant and agreeable manner won him many friends in every community in which resided. When he moved to Omaha he retired from business and had his affairs so arranged that any time he should be called from this life his family would be left in comfortable circumstances. The funeral services were conducted in the U.B. church, Tuesday, by the pastor Rev. T.K. Surface. The scriptures lesson read the fourteenth chapter of Job. The singing was rendered by Mrs. Clara Arner, Misses Bessie Krumbach and Vera Surface, Mr. Levi Nelson and Arthur Ryan. Interment was made in the Shelby Cemetery. When Dyer Steen Wilhelm Hasselbalch was born in September 1845 in Denmark, his father, Steen, was 74 and his mother, Oline, was 53. He married Emma Caroline Monk in 1873. They had eight children in 16 years. He died on February 25, 1912, in Shelby, Nebraska, at the age of 66, and was buried there. Steen and Emma Hasselbalch arrived in New York, New York on October 2, 1897. To this union eight children were born Elizabeth, Frederikke, Helena, Wilhelm, Gerda, Nels and Ella.
