Description	:	SHOALS, NC ~ Mrs. Stella Irene Marion Marion, a loving mother, and grandmother, 83, the wife of the late Jerry Elwell Marion, of 911 Pilot Church Road, died Tuesday evening, Feb. 4, 2003, at the Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Marion was born Sept. 7, 1919, in Surry County to John Dee and Blanche Reeves Marion. She was a retired employee of Armtex Inc., a homemaker, a member of Fairview United Methodist Church, and an avid N.C. State basketball fan. Read More	SHOALS, NC ~ Mrs. Stella Irene Marion Marion, a loving mother, and grandmother, 83, the wife of the late Jerry Elwell Marion, of 911 Pilot Church Road, died Tuesday evening, Feb. 4, 2003, at the Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Marion was born Sept. 7, 1919, in Surry County to John Dee and Blanche Reeves Marion. She was a retired employee of Armtex Inc., a homemaker, a member of Fairview United Methodist Church, and an avid N.C. State basketball fan. Surviving are six daughters and sons-in-law: Phyllis and Conrad Chilton, and Brenda O'Neal, all of Pinnacle, Linda and Dan Henley, and Janet Marion Allen, all of Winston-Salem, Sandy and Robert Smith of Westfield, and Mary and Brian Peters of Winston-Salem; a son and daughters-in-law, Jerry "Tommy" and Barbara Marion of Pilot Mountain, and Bettie Hayes Marion of Pinnacle; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a special niece, Elizabeth Jackson of Winston-Salem; and a brother, Ray Marion of Asheboro. Mrs. Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Elwell Marion; two sons, Aubrey Franklin Marion and Johnny Gray Marion; and a son-in-law, Jerry O'Neal. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at Fairview United Methodist Church by the Rev. Amy Coles. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening, Feb. 6, 2003, at the church and other times at Mrs. Marion's home, 911 Pilot Church Road, Pinnacle. The family would like to say a very special thank you to Dr. Donald Graham and the staff of Salem Chest Specialist, Patricia Klein and the staff of Brookview Hills Internal Medicine, the ninth general staff at Forsyth Medical Center and to nurse J. Beth Jones for their support and care during the illness of Mrs. Marion. Memorials may be made in floral tribute or to the Fairview United Methodist Church Relief Fund, c/o Sheryl Butcher, 3767 Quaker Church Road, Pinnacle, NC 27043. The Marion family is being served by Cox-Needham Funeral Home and Chapel in Pilot Mountain.
