Read More	Obituary: Ransom County Gazette December 19, 1918 The whole community is deeply feeling the loss of one of its dearest friends and benefactors in the person of Mrs. N. J. Zeller of Lisbon. She contacted influenza on Friday, Dec. 6th, which later developed into pneumonia, to which disease she succumbed on Tuesday evening, December 17, at 9:55. Mrs. Zeller was a most interesting personality, her interest of life was centered in the interest of others, her thought was how could she help those who were in need? During the high tide of the influenza epidemic in the middle of October, the home of Mes. Zeller was headquarters for the Red Cross canteen and the making and distribution of pneumonia jackets and other requisites to help relieve the suffering and to save human life. Such was her life's work. In the church circles she was always the leader in committee work for the bringing of joy into the lives of others. Her kind is rare in social life. A community can ill afford to lose them. While she was suffering and the angel of death hovered around her, her thought was of constant inquiry how others were getting along and if they needed anything. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and Treasurer of the Sunday School as well as an interested worker in the larger activities of the institutional life. Hers was a community soul and could not be bounded by the narrow limitations of any one institution. Like her Master, she 'went about doing good.' Her religion was decidedly manifested in right social relations. We shall miss her and unite with the family in their grief over the loss of one whose sole object in life was to drive away the shadows and cause the sun to shine. Stella Isabel Mitchell was born on September 12, 1885 at Emery, Iowa. She married Nicholas J. Zeller in Minot, North Dakota on April 19, 1907, from which union one child, Mitchell Nicholas was born. They came to Lisbon August 6, 1914 and entered into the jewelry business next door to the post office where her genial personality always radiated good cheer in her efforts to accommodate the patrons and in the assistance of her husband. The following are the out of town relatives who are present to attend the funeral, which will be held at the Methodist Church on Friday at 1 p.m.: Mrs. Catherine Mitchell, mother of the deceased; Mrs J. E. Sawyer, sister; Mrs. Wm. Hollister, sister; these are from Clear Lake, IA: T. F. Mitchell, Swea City, IA, brother and F. A. Zeller, brother of Mr. Zeller, who comes from St. Paul. She leaves to mourn her loss besides the foregoing, four sisters, Mrs. John Bontly, of Monticello, Green Co.,WI; Mrs. Martin Olson of Genoa, Texas; Mrs. C. E. Olden of Rock Falls, Iowa and Mrs. John Stanley of Rock Falls. The funeral services will be in charge of Rev. H. Styles Harris and interment will be made in Oakwood Cemetery.
