Description	:	Funeral services for long time Forest City resident, Mrs. Stella Norstrud, were held Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran church in Forest City. The Rev. John Hieronymus officiated. Organist Leonard Markusen accompanied Mrs. John Hieronymus who sang. Casket bearers were Edwin Blair, Jessie Monsen, Carrol Monsen, Elwood Norstrud, Dennis Norstrud and Allen Peterson. Burial was in West Prairie cemetery in Leland with the Petersen funeral home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Norstrud, 89, died July 29 at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City. Born Jan. 4, 1890, on a farm west of Crystal lake, Stella Norstrud was the daughter of Hans and Jessie Burnham Larsen. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended rural schools in Ellington township. March 4, 1914, she married Oley C. Norstrud at the United Methodist church in Forest City. They operated the Norstrud Battery & Electric Shop until retiring in 1949. After Mr. Norstrud's death Nov. 19, 1952, Mrs . Norstrud continued to live in Forest City. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran church, Forest City American Legion Auxiliary and the Rebekah Lodge. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lowell (Ruth) Friest of Ventura and Mrs. 0. H. (Ila) Martin of Mesa, Ariz.; two son, lven Norstrud of Britt and Clarence Norstrud of San Antonio, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; four sisters, Mrs. Martin (Pluma) Monsen of Rake, Mrs.Tunis Clay of Harrisburg, Pa., Mrs. Will (Marvel) Henchall of Fayetteville, Ark., and Mrs. Goodie Blair of Osage; and three brothers, Erwin Larsen of Charles City, Bruce Larsen of Hot Springs, Ark., and Donald Larsen of Newell. She was preceded in death by her husband; four grandchildren; her parents; a sister, Mrs. Nels (Doris) Nelson; and two brothers, Rollie and Burnham Larsen. Contributor: Clarice Brown (47532128)
