H. BODY BROUGHT HERE MONDAY Mrs. Charles R. Serio, of this city, met a tragic death late Sunday night when a car in which she and her three children were riding overturned near Hanover C. H., about 17 miles north of Richmond. The Serio chauffeur, Bilchey Combs, colored, and the three children escaped with minor bruises when the Ford car overturned down an embankment two or three times into a muddy pool. Mrs. Serio was buried in the water and mud beneath the wrecked car; with a stanchion of the auto top frame pressing across her neck. The driver and Master Joseph Serio, died all within their power to life the car and release Mrs. Serio, but they were unable to do so before she had become suffocated. The little fellow tugged with all his might to drag his mother from the mud beneath the debris while Combs strove to raise the car. Mrs. Serio, with her two young daughters and son, left home at 3 o'clock for a long Sunday afternoon's drive, and were en route back when darkness overtook them. The headlights of the car burned out, and the driver was attempting to travel by aid of moonlight when a soft spot in the highway caused the car to skid over an embankment. The chauffeur sustained an injury to his leg, and one daughter, little Miss Sarah Serio, received a minor injury to her back. The two other children escaped with a shaking up. The three Serio children were brought on to Fredericksburg by tourists, reaching here at 2 a. m. Monday, and the sad news of the tragedy was told to Mr. Serio, who had become very anxious when his family had not put in their appearance at the late hour. Mrs. Serio's remains were removed to Hanover Court House, where an inquest was held Monday morning by the county coroner, after which they were brought to Fredericksburg for burial. Mrs. Serio was before marriage, Miss Stella Gately, a daughter of the late Councilman and Mrs. M. J. Gately of this city. She is survived by her husband, a barber residing on Lafayette St., 3 young children, Joseph, Sarah, Marguerite, one brother, Mathew J. Gately, of San Francisco, Calif., and one sister, Mars. Margaret Lonning, of Washington. Funeral services will be held from St. Mary's Catholic Church Wednesday at 10 a. m., conducted by Rev. Father J. A. Callahan. Interment in the City Cemetery.

This is my Greatgrandmother, 1st wife to Charlie Serio mother of Joseph M Serio, father to Joseph Lee Serio, father to Me, Donna Serio. I'm looking for information on my Grandfather Joseph Matthew Serio he has not been heard from since 1955.
