Description	:	S. Maxine Fielding, 85, of Otterbein, died at 12 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Whispering Pines Nursing Home, Monticello. Born April 28, 1922, in Tippecanoe County, she was the daughter of the late Harry John Widmer and Stella Hans Widmer. She had lived in Tippecanoe and Warren counties all of her life. Born April 28, 1922, in Tippecanoe County, she was the daughter of the late Harry John Widmer and Stella Hans Widmer. She had lived in Tippecanoe and Warren counties all of her life. She graduated from Montmorenci High School in 1940. She was married on March 15, 1941, to Robert Fielding. He died Jan. 28, 2004, Mrs. Fielding farmed with her husband and was a homemaker. She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church and formerly was active in the former EUB Church in Otterbein. She enjoyed cooking, baking and Purdue sports. Surviving are a son, John Fielding (wife: Barbara) of Monticello; a daughter, Virginia Liptrap (husband: Dennis) of Lexington, Ky.; a brother, Ernest "Bud" Widmer (wife: Ruth Marie) of Otterbein; and a sister, Leona Stroop of West Lafayette. Surviving are grandchildren, Angela Galloway (Eddie), Amy Cline (Bob), Tracy Spickard (Donnie), Gerald Fielding (Amy), Laura Guthrie (Dwight), Greta Brown (EJ), Levi Fielding; great-grandchildren, Sammy, Brynne and Kayma Galloway, Matthew, Emily and Jenna Cline, Kaytlyn and Baylee Spickard, Jaelyn Guthrie and Baby Brown (due anytime). Maxine was very family oriented and took great joy in nurturing her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed watching Purdue sports and delighted her family with her homemade pies, yeast rolls and beef and noodles. Preceded in death by a brother, Leroy "Doc" Widmer.
