A Celebration of Life will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 1, at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Glenda Pearson officiating. Stella Mayetta was born Aug. 31, 1925, at Doniphan to Samuel and Anna (Johnson) Deisley. She was raised on a farm in Webster County where she received her early education and graduated from Riverton High School in 1943. On Jan. 23, 1944, Stella was united in marriage to Ivan “Andy” Andersen at Norman. To this union four children were born. While Mr. Andersen worked in the radio broadcasting business the couple resided in numerous towns in Texas, New Mexico, South Dakota and Nebraska. In 1983, they settled in Ord. Stella’s main career was as a homemaker, but she was a woman of many talents. She worked in various capacities throughout her life. She was a cook for local nursing homes and schools. She operated a catering business in Ord, Party Paradise. Stella was an excellent seamstress, making all of her clothing and her children’s clothing. Her girls were never without a new outfit for each occasion. She had a sewing, altering and mending shop located in the Ord Shoe Shack and then continued the business in her home after the store closed. She was well known for her sewing talents through the years. In her later years, after retirement (which never really occurred), Stella worked at Lil’ People’s Playhouse. She deeply loved this as her favorite part was rocking the babies. At the age of 80, she was forced to officially retire due to ill health. Andy passed away on Nov. 9, 1996. Stella continued to make her home in Ord, spending her last years at Grandview Living Center and recently at Valley View Living Center. A memorable day was on Valentine’s Day of 2014, when Stella was voted the Valentine’s Day Queen at Valley View Living Center. She was loved and well cared for in each place. She touched the hearts of many and made lasting friends at both homes. Stella was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary and a charter member of the Ord Elks Does. She was an avid bowler and card player, and was well known for beating family members in a game of gin. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and cooking. Stella was famous for her cinnamon rolls, roast beef with gravy and fried chicken. Nothing made her happier than cooking for her family. Survivors include two sons, Charles “Chuck” of Broken Bow and Leonard “Len” and his special friend, Deb Schimenti, both of Ord; two daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Gayle Klinkman of Broken Bow and Linda and Mike Kunz of Ord; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Heather Andersen (Jeff Larson), Ken Andersen, Jeff (Julie) Klinkman, Debbie (Rich) Tondreau, Greg Klinkman, Robert Klinkman, Adam (Bethanne) Kunz, Kim Kunz and Josh Smith; eight great-grandchildren, Logan and Mattie Klinkman, Josh, Katie and Jacob Tondreau, Treyson Klinkman, Haley Kunz and Eli Larson; and a sister-in-law, Eleanor (Mrs. Marvin) Deisley of Minden. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Andy; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Steve and Lois Deisley, Louis and Alice Deisley, and Marvin Deisley; two sisters, Clara Reif and Nadine Miller; and
