Description	:	Stella Van Wyhe, 82, of Windsor died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004 at her home. She was born May 28, 1921, in Platte, S.D., to John and Grace (Pranger) Ruiter. On July 23, 1946, she married Elmer Van Wyhe in Grand Rapids, Mich. Mr. and Mrs. Van Wyhe farmed in the Ireton, Iowa, area beginning in 1946. Mr. Van Wyhe died Sept. 20, 1980. In the mid-1980s, Mrs. Van Wyhe moved to Colorado Springs. In 1985, she moved to Windsor. A homemaker, she enjoyed playing golf, Scrabble, traveling, needlework, and was an avid bridge player. Mr. and Mrs. Van Wyhe farmed in the Ireton, Iowa, area beginning in 1946. Mr. Van Wyhe died Sept. 20, 1980. In the mid-1980s, Mrs. Van Wyhe moved to Colorado Springs. In 1985, she moved to Windsor. A homemaker, she enjoyed playing golf, Scrabble, traveling, needlework, and was an avid bridge player. She especially enjoyed time with family. Survivors are a daughter, Drenda Thoen and husband John of Windsor; four sons, Orrin Van Wyhe of Greeley, Allen Van Wyhe and wife Kathy of Colorado Springs, Kevin Van Wyhe and wife Jane and Gary Van Wyhe and wife Deb, all of Farmington, Ark.; two sisters, June Hoeksema and Helen Penning, and a brother, Gerrit Ruiter, all of Grand Rapids; 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Her parents and a sister, Emily Groelsema, are deceased. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 1450 Westwood, Windsor. A reception will be at the church after the service. Internment will be in Ireton. Services will be Jan. 30 and 31 in the Craig, Iowa, area at times to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Samaritan's Carriage, 2031 N. Cross Creek Drive, Grand Rapids, MI 49508; or Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado, 2726 11th St. Road, Greeley, CO 80634 or to a charity of choice. Memorial gifts may also be sent in care of Long DeVoe Funeral Service, 102 Elm St., Windsor, CO 80550.
