Description	:	Stephen G. Kreycik was born November 25, 1875 in Jestrabi Lhota, state of Chaslav, Checzhosolovakia. When he was four years of age, he came to America with his parents. The family settled on a homestead near Pishelville in Knox county, Nebraska. There he grew to boyhood and attended the district school. Kreycik was born November 25, 1875 in Jestrabi Lhota, state of Chaslav, Checzhosolovakia. When he was four years of age, he came to America with his parents. The family settled on a homestead near Pishelville in Knox county, Nebraska. There he grew to boyhood and attended the district school. Being an admirer of nature, Mr. Kreycik took great interest in life about him. The rivers and streams attracted him in his carefree days of boyhood. Even in his declining years, he often could be found in the woods beside a stream of water. On October 17, 1901, he married Miss Bessie Holan. The young couple settled on a farm three miles south of Pishelville. In August 1941 the ailments of added years crept upon him. In March of 1942 he was confined to a hospital in Sioux City, Iowa, where he submitted to a surgical operation. Returning home, his hopes proved to be false for his health grew worse rapidly. He was confined to the Lynch hospital for two weeks. Again with renewed hopes, he came home, but he was obliged to return to the hospital, where on Wednesday, September 15, 1943, the angel of mercy beckoned and Mr. Kreycik passed away having attained 67 years, 9 months and 20 days. His wife and loving companion survives, also two sons and one daughter mourn the parting of a father; Otto of Niobrara, Frank of Verdel and Helen (Edward Vech) of Verdel. He also leaves two grandchildren; three brothers; Joseph of Woodlake, James of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Emil of Verdel; two sisters; Mary Kaftan of Tyndall, S.D and Anna Bartos of Walnut. Also surviving are many other relatives, friends and neighbors. Mr. Kreycik had served in various school district and township offices in his community. For twenty years, he served as treasurer of Pishelville Lodge of the Western Bohemian Fraternal Association. He was a good husband, a kind father, a true neighbor and friend.
