One of Christ’s most faithful servants, Stephen A. “Grandpa Steve” Eisenbraun, age 77, of Wall, was taken home to Heaven on Saturday evening, September 20, at the Hospice of the Hills in Rapid City. Read More	The son of Adolph Albert and Lenora Schweigert Eisenbraun. Married in 1970 to Gayle E Heinzelman in Ridgefield, Connecticut; they have three sons. One of Christ’s most faithful servants, Stephen A. “Grandpa Steve” Eisenbraun, age 77, of Wall, was taken home to Heaven on Saturday evening, September 20, at the Hospice of the Hills in Rapid City. Steve was born August 24, 1937, in Creighton, South Dakota, the son of Adolph and Lenora (Schweigert) Eisenbraun. He was baptized and confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Creighton and also grew up and received his education in the Creighton area. Steve then worked for various ranchers in the vicinity. In 1961, he entered the US Army, and served as a tank operator in Germany. He was honorably discharged September 5, 1964. On June 27, 1970, Steve married Gayle Heinzelman in Ridgefield, Connecticut, and to this union were born three sons Travis, Todd, and Tyler. He then was employed by Ed Huether and later Norman Geigle. In 1984, Steve started work at the Wall School as head maintenance, a position he held until retiring in 2003. Steve was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Creighton, and First Lutheran Church of Wall. At various times, he served as youth group counselor, usher, elder, and trustee. For several years, he was a member of the Wall Lions Club, serving as secretary – treasurer, and receiving several appreciation awards. Steve was also a member of the National American Legion, served a number of years on the Wall Community Library Board, and was a loyal member of the Wall Drug Coffee Drinkers. Steve enjoyed carpentry, and working with nature in his yard and garden, but his greatest joy was being a husband, father, and grandfather. Grateful for having shared his life include his wife Gayle of Wall; three sons, Travis Eisenbraun and his wife Beth of Braham, Minnesota, and their son Isaiah; Todd Eisenbraun of Wall and his son Noah, and daughter Emma; and Tyler Eisenbraun and his wife Wendi of Norfolk, Nebraska, and their son Axton and daughter Alyvia; one brother Walter Eisenbraun and his wife Janet of Hemet, California; seven sisters: Margaret Hoeft of Thrall, Texas, Lillian Fitzwater and her husband Marvin of North Port, Florida, Norma Juedes and her husband Bob of Wall, Iola Rainoldi and her husband Bob of Clarkston, Michigan, Thelma Neill and her husband Tim of Westerville, Ohio, Claudia Keyser and her husband Dave of New Braunfels, Texas, and Tina Fortune and her husband Dewey of Kingman, Arizona; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law David Hoeft. A prayer service was held Wednesday evening, September 24, at 7:00 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Wall. Well done, good and faithful servant. Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend, until we meet again in Heaven, we will miss you. A celebration of life memorial service was held Thursday, September 25, at 10:00 a.m. also at the First Lutheran Church in Wall, with Pastor Curtis Garland officiating.
