Description	:	Stephen Anthony Douglas Vinzant married Laura May Hollingsworth (ca 1884). He was known and visited relatives in Mercer County and was called Uncle SAD. In 1975 part of William's (1800) original land purchase was owned by descendants of William Jr., Katherine Vinzant and Dorothy Vinzant Smith. The second 320 acres was owned and farmed by SAD Vinzant and Dale Cemetery came out of this half section north of Centerville, Iowa. In narrative on William Vinzant, Allen L. Laura petitioned to live on the homestead during her lifetime and to receive a sufficient amount to meet her living expenses.--Granted 8 Sept 1941 to pay $50/month. Stella Clark lived in Kansas City Missouri, Virginia Vinzant Nelson lived in Sioux City, Iowa, Roma Carpenter lived in Cincinnati, Ohio. SAD owned Lot 1, Block 5, Range 5 in Centerville, Iowa, and lots 18, 19, 20 in Block 1, Fairlawn Addition to Centerville; $6, 857.08 cash. Roma owed $1450 at 5% interest. Total $13, 307.78. Owed $2, 500 mortgage. Burial & casket $368.65; $357 for monument.
