Afternoon With impressive services of the Masonic, the remains of the late Stephen Babbit Foster were laid to rest in the Havre cemetery. The funeral was held at the First Baptist Church. Mr. Foster was one of the old time residents of Havre. He was a Mason for 59 years, having been made a member of the order in Canada in his early manhood. He celebrated the golden jubilee of his raising to the rank of Master Mason nine years ago. Death came to Mr. Foster at his home on Seventh Street Monday morning after an illness of five years during which time he was confined to his bed. A stroke of paralysis was the cause of his invalidism. Mr. Foster was born in eastern Canada 80 years ago. On Dec. 4, 1873, Stephen Babbit Foster and Charity Belinda Tree were married at Woodstock, Canada. They moved to Montana in 1890 and have lived here since that time. Mr. Foster has worked as a carpenter and contractor. Mr. Foster is survived by his widow, and by two sons and three daughters; W.R. Foster, Valley City, N. Dak., Lou W. Foster, Mrs. Pat Herron, Miss Dot Foster of Havre, and Mrs. R.W. Weil of Hillsboro, Oregon. He also leaves a number of grandchildren. Three are the sons and daughter of a deceased daughter, W.S. McNally of Whitefish, Hobart McNally of Great Falls, and Mrs. Paul Entorf of Chinook. There also survive him seven great-grandchildren and two brothers, Cecil and Charles of Detroit, Mich.
