He raised two step-sons, William Martin of LaPorte, Ind., and Charlie Grimes, deceased; 22 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; one brother, Mr. Adrian Shoffner of LaFollette; four sisters, Mrs. Richard Housley of LaFollette, Mrs. Bertha Hardenburg of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Mae Myers of Florida and Mrs. Ethel Beans of Clinton. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Roach Mortuary Chapel by the Rev. Ralph Berry and the Rev. George Delozier. Burial was in Bakers Forge Memorial Cemetery. Roach Mortuary, LaFollette, was in charge of arrangements.
