After the war he lived in Bridgewater, and was a resident of Plymouth, 1801 - 1806. Subsequently he lived a few years in Compton, P. Q., and in Danville and Cabot, Vt., where he d. Oct. 28, 1828. His widow d. in Plymouth, Sept. 4, 1841. When it says "born near Haverhill, Mass.," it's a bit misleading, because most people believe he was born in Hampstead, New Hampshire. His father was Josiah Heath, and his mother was named Susannah Griffin. They were one of the families "warned out of town" in Hampstead in 1766, and again in 1767. The spelling is a bit different from the way we would write it these days, but it does call them all by name. Most of the records you will find online say the parents were married in 1746/1747, but had no children until the 1760's -- after which she continued to bear children until she was 50; but one wonders why they stop there and do not attribute every unknown Heath in New England to this couple. I'm reasonably sure he was born in Hampstead (Rockingham County), There being no provision for "near such-and-such" here at the Findagrave. I don't think you would get a lot of argument if you said he was. After the family was warned out, they moved to Grafton County, New Hampshire, where the last child was born in 1775, at a town called Bridgewater. In New Hampshire if you're rich, you get a granite monument. If you're poor you get a limestone one. Those disintegrate rather completely. -------------------------
