Steven died Thursday, July 13, 2017, at Antelope Memorial Hospital in Neligh. Steven D. Kraft (Big S), son of Dale Kraft and June (Barrett) Kraft, was born May 22, 1956, at Antelope Memorial Hospital in Neligh, Nebraska. He attended Elkhorn Valley High School in Tilden, Nebraska. Steven married Cindy Brummett on October 7, 1989 at Oakdale Community Center. They were blessed with six children: Maggie, Terry, Tim, Danny, Callie, and Tammie. Steve was raised on the family farm south of Oakdale. He enjoyed farming with his dad, taking care of cattle, and putting up hay. After his father Dale died, Steven continued working on the family farm with his son Danny. His passion was John Deere big and small. Steven was a devoted husband and father with a big heart. He loved teaching his children to farm, hunt, and fish. Steven’s most special times were spent with his family and watching his children grow. Steven was known for having a good outlook on life, socializing with friends and family, and always having a good joke hiding in his back pocket. Steven is survived by his wife, Cindy of 27 years; sons, Terry (Amy) Glenn of Norfolk, Nebraska, Danny (and friend Jessica Koeppe) of Marion, Nebraska; daughters, Callie and Tammie of Neligh; friend, Wayne Hoffman of Clearwater, Nebraska; son-in-law, Brian Turpitt of Genoa, Nebraska; three sisters, Peggy (Lyle) Galyen of Tilden, twin sister, Kate Anson of Orchard, Nebraska, and Karen (Tom) Dietz of Oakdale; brother, Kevin Kraft of Tilden and friend Jeanie Jensen of Norfolk; seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and June Kraft; brother-in-law, Tim Anson; son, Tim Glenn; daughter, Maggie Turpitt; and grandparents.
