Description	:	Eureka - The funeral for Steven David "Gussie" Goehring, 61, of Eureka will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2006, at Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Straubs Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service at the church. Steven was born to John Goehring Jr., and Erma (Lammle) Goehring of Long Lake, on Dec. 30, 1944, in a Eureka hospital. Steven moved to Eureka with his parents in 1958 from the farm in Long Lake. He became an employee with the road construction on Interstate 90. He then worked for Schaeffer Manufacturing and then as an employee with the Eureka City Police Department and presently with the McPherson County Highway as a road maintenance employee. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling and all sports events. He is a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Croach and grandson Tyler Croach of Littleton, Colo.; sons, Michael Goehring of Evansville, Ind., and Matthew Smith of Sioux Falls; his mother, Mrs. Erma V. Goehring and a brother, Cornelius G. Goehring, both of Eureka; and former wives, Nancy Cummins of Aberdeen and Cheryl Kirschenmann of Eureka. He was preceded in death by his father, John Goehring Jr. Casket bearers will be Daren Fischer, Rodney Kirschenmann, Landis Wald, Dan Lapka, Bradley Rau and Donald Kallenberger. Honorary casket bearers are the McPherson County employees. Pastor Dean Nelson will officiate and the organist will be Lanna Hilgemann. Special music by the trio, From the Heart and congregational singing. Straubs Funeral Home of Eureka is in charge of arrangements. Published in the Aberdeen News on 1/31/2006.
