Mrs Gilber Carlson sang “How Great Thou Art” and the congregation sang “Beautiful Saviour” accompanied by the organist, Mrs. Elmer Christensen. Jacobsen Funeral Home of St. Paul was in charge of arrangements. Steve F Larkowski, son of John and Helena Larkowski was born on a farm in Howard County, Nebraska on November 8, 1899. He passed away at his home at Dannebrog on July 27 at the age of 78 years. Steve grew up in the Nysted and Farwell area where he attended school as a boy. On August 25, 1925 he was united in marriage to Bessie Jacobsen and to this union, eleven children were born. He was engaged in farming until 1944 when he became engaged in carpentry, then in county maintenance work and in the plumbing business. In 1969 he moved to Dannebrog where he lived until his death. He was a member of Our Saviours Lutheran Church in Dannebrog. Steve was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, four brothers, nine sisters and two daughters, one son and five grandsons. He is survived by five sons, Donald of Dannebrog, Gailard of Lexington, Kentucky, Gerald of Orlando, Florida, Lavern of Axtell, Nebraska, Larry of Ord, three daughters, Mrs Doris Leth of St. Paul, Mrs. Nancy Darling of Kearney and Mrs Kathleen Christensen of Ravenna, a sister, Thekla Larkowski, two brothers, Leo and Alex of Ft. Jones, California; 37 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Transcribed by Jim Reimers
