SD to Edwin and Minnie (Smith) Steen. He was baptized in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Vienna, SD. He was also confirmed at the Bethlehem Church. Steve attended Clark Schools, and graduated from Clark High School in 1968. Following graduation, Steve attended Lake Area Vocational for Machine Tool. He attended South Dakota State University for one year, then returned to Vienna area where he worked for farmers.... SD to Edwin and Minnie (Smith) Steen. He was baptized in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Vienna, SD. He was also confirmed at the Bethlehem Church. Steve attended Clark Schools, and graduated from Clark High School in 1968. Following graduation, Steve attended Lake Area Vocational for Machine Tool. He attended South Dakota State University for one year, then returned to Vienna area where he worked for farmers. He was a Sanitation Engineer in Rapid City, he worked as a guide and mechanic at a resort in Susitna River, Alaska. He also worked with custom combing. Recently, Steve has been trapping for the State of South Dakota and caring for his mother. Steve enjoyed trapping, fishing, hunting, reading, gardening, playing cards, especially rattle, pinochle and visiting people. Steve will be sadly missed by his mother, Minnie Steen of Vienna, SD; two sisters; Linda (Don) Peek, Wasilia, Alaska; Edwina (Marlin) Brenden, of Watertown, SD. One niece, Teresa Brenden; Four nephews: Robert Peek, Wasilla, Alaska; Rick (Molly) Peek, Alaska; Eric (Misty) Brenden of Sioux Falls, SD; Dan (Misty) Brenden, Watertown, SD; One great-grand nephew. William Dean Brenden. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; John and Bena (Buss) Smith; Nels and Angilee Steen. Services 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 5, 2004, Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Vienna, SD. Clergy, Rev. Sam Hatlestad. Organist, Dorothy Fuller; Flautist, Teresa Brenden. Pallbearers: Richard Peek. Randy Kolden, Eric Brenden, Robert Minier, Dan Brenden, and Robert Peek. Interment Lake Preston Cemetery, Lake Preston, S.D.
