Description	:	Steven was the son of Jerry & Anna (Konop) Boxa. He moved with his parents to a farm near Dixon, NE when he was two and they then moved to a farm north of Gregory, SD. After graduating from Gregory High School in 1934, he began working at the Rennwald Store and then worked in the Stanley Pochop store in Gregory. He joined the U.S. military and served in the 7th Army in northern Africa. He was in the invasion of Sicily and the battles in Italy. He was discharged in 1945 and awarded the Bronze Star.
