Description	:	Sue Booker Bramer was a native of Sullivan and lived with her parents and brothers on the east side of the courthouse square "over the store" where her family owned and operated a well known hamburger and ice cream store "Don's Place" for over 40 years. Sue was the first in her family to graduate high school, Sullivan High School Class of 1957. She was a telephone operator, x ray technician, bookkeeper, bank teller for 30 years, and after her retirement was elected Hamilton Township Assessor at a time when Republicans were rarely elected in Sullivan County. Read More	Sue Booker Bramer was a native of Sullivan and lived with her parents and brothers on the east side of the courthouse square "over the store" where her family owned and operated a well known hamburger and ice cream store "Don's Place" for over 40 years. Sue was the first in her family to graduate high school, Sullivan High School Class of 1957. She was a telephone operator, x ray technician, bookkeeper, bank teller for 30 years, and after her retirement was elected Hamilton Township Assessor at a time when Republicans were rarely elected in Sullivan County. She was Republican Woman of the Year in 1999. She had one son, Richard, and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who all knew her as "Aunt Susie". She loved to laugh, loved to travel, and had an opinion about almost everything. Her friends & family loved her for her honesty and loyalty. She suffered from Dementia for the last 20 years of her life which ended her retirement career of elected office far too soon - she loved being the assessor because finally she was her own boss making decisions that mattered while helping others, was working "at home" across the street from her life long residence with people she had known all her life, and appreciated her neighbors of both political parties for voting for her.
