Description	:	Maggie Covey provided the following Rob Walker in the late 1990s: Susan Baker Huston was always referenced by the name Susan although her father in his will refered to her as "Susannah". Susan and Arthur homesteaded first near Middle Branch NE which I believe is in Holt Co. Then around the turn of the century they homesteaded again in Jones Co SD. Oral history says that Susan was the driving force behind both of these homesteads. Although small and petite, she had the reputation for getting her way. The homestead in South Dakota was left to my grandfather Jack Baker Huston, their youngest son. Although most of the land was sold off in the mid-1980s, my father, Jack B. Huston, Jr., until his death, owned a half-section of land which includes the original homestead. My brother Tom is now purchasing that land from my mother.
