The ceremony was a very pretty and unique one. Early in the morning friends began to assemble and when the hour arrived the room was well filled. The room was darkened then lighted with lamps. An altar was arranged for the minister, it being beautifully decorated with potted flowers. Prof. E.G. Frits played the wedding march. The bride was beautifully attired in white voil, carrying a bouquet of white roses, while the groom was neatly dressed in black. Mr. Paul Mauzy and Miss Margaret Simmons were the attendants. Rev. J.B. Ferguson performed the ceremony. Congratulations were extended, a beautiful breakfast was served, and immediately afterwards the couple took an automobile for Staunton, from thence to Washington City, where they will spend their honey moon. The bride was attired in a traveling suit of Blue. The groom is a promising young farmer of Crabbottom, and the bride is one of Crabbottom's fair daughters. We predict for the happy couple a bright and successful future. The Recorder June 7, 1912 Sudie E. Rexrode, 94, of Hightown died Friday, May 20, 1988 at Pendleton Nursing Home, Franklin, W.Va. She was born Aug. 4, 1893 at Blue Grass, a daughter of Minor and Martha Ann Mullenax Simmons. On June 3, 1912 she was married to E. Russell Rexrode who died Feb. 19, 1973. She was a member and primary Sunday school teacher at Blue Grass United Methodist Church and a member of the United Methodist Women and Extension Homemakers Club. She also was a member of the Community Choir. She had been a resident Of the nursing home for 18 months. Survivors include a daughter, Ruby Rexrode of Hightown; two sons, Eugene of Blue Grass and Kenton Rexrode of Hightown; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A service was conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Union Chapel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Richard Gibson, with burial in Union Chapel Cemetery.
