Daughter of James Robuck and Elizabeth Caylor OBITUARY THE CHARITON HERALD-PATRIOT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, June 3, 1926 SUSAN ELIZABETH PERRY Susan Elizabeth Robuck was born in Fayette county, Ohio, June 12, 1846, and departed this life May 27, 1926, at her home in Chariton, Iowa, at the age of 79 years, 11 months and 15 days. At the age of seven she came with her parents to Marion county, Iowa, and settled on a farm where she grew to womanhood. On Jan. 4, 1885, she was united in marriage to Elijah Perry, of Marysville, Iowa, who preceded her in death 18 years ago. She had been in failing health for almost five years, having suffered a stroke of paralysis from which she partially recovered, until a week ago when she suffered another stroke and passed peacefully away. She was a kind mother and neighbor, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in distress. She has been tenderly cared for by her only son, Charley and daughter, Ida. She leaves to mourn their loss her son, Charley, and daughter, Mrs. Ida Shelton, both of Chariton, two step-sons, John Perry of Tipperary, Iowa, and Edward Perry, of Webb City, Mo., and three step-daughters, Mrs. Lucy Crawford, of Sioux City, Iowa, Mrs. Helen Long, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Mrs. Sarah Nichols, of Chicago, Ill., and five grandchildren, Louise, Kenneth, John, Richard and Donald Shelton, also 28 step-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, May 30, from the Nazarene church in Chariton, in charge of the pastor, Rev. L. D. Buchanan. Interment followed at the Strong cemetery north of Chariton.
