Read More	Susan Ethel Bryant married Edward Manilla Spivey and had eight children. Wingate(Bryant),Arland,Camilla,David,Edward,Edwin,Gene,and Aubrey. Their lives circled around the Lakeview,South Carolina area until the early fifties,then moved to Flagler Beach, Florida. My Grandmother knew gardening well,and served as head of the garden club of Flagler Beach. She was very active when it came to projects in her community. In the summers, I remember we would go to Hope Cemetery(now Craig Cemetery) and we would clean all weeds from the headstones,clean the debris around the cemetery,(an all day project) and as she put it to words "nourish the land " I would often ask her, why do you pick so many weeds, Grandmother? Her reply was always, "it's good therapy,and it helps the flowers to grow." I learned the love of the land ,from her. She was the person to go to for encouragement, and always found the positive, not the negative. How fortunate was I, she was my angel.
