Description	:	CENTRAL CITY — Sue A. "Grandma T" Tschetter, 98, of Central City died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, at Long Term Care in Central City. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the United Presbyterian Church in Central City, with the Rev. Doug McHargue officiating. Interment will be in the Central City Cemetery at a later date. Solt Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Tschetter was born on July 16, 1915, in Freeman, S.D., to Jacob P. and Maria (Dekker) Maendl. She was preceded in death by her husband. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, MelRoy and Gilda Tschetter of St. Joe, Mich., and Darlene and Howard Lenhart of Central City; five grandchildren, Janelle and Al Schmidt of Wisconsin, Terry and Julie Tschetter of Wisconsin, Kip and Sheila Lenhart of Central City, Terra and Sid Buller of O'Neill, and Carrie and Randy Hollenbeck of Wisconsin; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandson; a sister-in-law, Hanna Kleinsasser of Huron, S.D.; and special friends Janice Tschetter of Milwaukee, Wis., and Bob Flesch and Gerald Jindra both of Central City. Sue attended school in Hutchinson County and Freeman Bible School. After completing her education, Sue lived at home to help with the chores. She learned to cook and sew from her mother. On April 22, 1934, Sue was united in marriage to Edmund J. Tschetter. They lived with his parents in Huron, S.D., and Ed farmed and Sue cleaned houses. In 1943, they went to live in Bellevue, Neb., for several years, then went to live in Bryant, S.D. and in 1949 returned to Bellevue. Sue worked for Wolber's Drug Store for 10 years and Johnny Johnson's Rexall Drug for 14 years. They retired in 1979 and came to live in Central City to be near their daughter. Sue worked in the fabric and card departments for the Central City Mall for 10 years. Ed died on March 18, 1996. Sue continued to live in their home until moving to Long Term Care in 2007. While living in Bellevue, Sue was active in the Christian Church. In Central City, Sue was an active member of the United Presbyterian Church. She was a Sunday school teacher, she sang in the choir and served as music chairperson for many years. Sue was active in the Central City Senior Center, serving on the board and helping with the crafts at the center. She loved flowers, crocheting, sewing, and was an artist at baking bread, cinnamon rolls and homemade noodles. Sue was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; granddaughter, Sandra Marie Lenhart; grandson, Jeffrey Tschetter; a great grandson; two sisters; and three brothers.
