E. Church, south, conducted by Rev. Thompson Penn. Mrs. Miller had long been a faithful and consistent member of this church. She and her husband, Joseph C. Miller, who preceded her several years ago across the River, came to Shelbyville in the fall of 1837, and she had consequently lived here fifty years. It is said that a half dozen persons or less, are all that remain of the citizens of this place fifty years ago, J. M. Ennis, James Ralph and wife being among the number. Mrs. Miller leaves four living children, two sons and two daughters—John W. of your city and N. C. Miller, and Mrs. J. A. Carney of this place, and Mrs. McLeod, of lowa.
