Death was due to heart trouble, asthma, and a hard cold. Her funeral was held at the Edgewood Congregational Church on Sunday December 12, 1916. Burial in the Edgewood Cemetery. Read More	Missouri Death Certificate Edgewood Journal Thursday 16 Dec 1915 (Summary of a lengthy obituary) Susan Hamlett died Thursday morning, December 9, 1915, at the home of her daughter Mrs. Addie Hamlin, in Kansas City, Missouri. Death was due to heart trouble, asthma, and a hard cold. Her funeral was held at the Edgewood Congregational Church on Sunday December 12, 1916. Burial in the Edgewood Cemetery. She was born in Potter County, Pennsylvania and came to Iowa with parents at age 5 when the family settled near Wood. She married Elias Hamlett on 24 Oct 1876. In 1886 they moved to Nebraska for six months and then returned to Wood. In 1894 they made an overland trip to West Virginia and stayed there one year. The next year they moved to Putnam County, Missouri. They later returned to Iowa and bought the old home place near Wood, where they lived until 1902. Mrs. Hamlett had lived in Olathe, Kansas the last two years of her life and returned to her home in Kansas City just two weeks before her death. Survivors included 1 daughter, 4 sons, 4 grandchildren, and 3 sisters. Her husband is not mentioned in her obituary. daughter Mrs. Addie Hamlin of Kansas City, MO son Luther E. of Knox, IL son Arthur E. of Olathe, KS sons Oscar E. and Earnest A., both of Kansas City sisters Diana Ashline, Roaina Fisher, and Hannah Shaw, all of the Edgewood area.
