She came with her parents to Kansas in May 1873. She was converted in her early womanhood and has always retained her membership with the Free Will Baptist Church. She came with her parents to Kansas in May 1873. She was converted in her early womanhood and has always retained her membership with the Free Will Baptist Church. She was united in marriage with Thomas N. Collins June 3, 1891. To this union 10 children were born, eight of whom are living; Mrs. Flora Smalley and Mrs. Susan Vitt of Los Banos, Calif.; Enos, Thomas and may of Modesto, Calif.; Joseph of Concordia and the Misses Nellie and Eula of Simpson, Kan. Her husband was accidentally killed June 21, 1914, and though left alone to rear her family no one ever heard her murmur or complain of her lot. Aunt Sue, as everyone called her, was blessed with a cheerful disposition, could always see the silver lining to the darkest cloud and had the gift of being a friend to old and young. She was never too tired to go and care for the sick or comfort those in distress. She was married to L. J. Fitzgerald Sept. 1, 1926, who with his two sons, and her children and nine grandchildren, together with a host of friends and relatives are left to mourn the loss of a true wife and loving mother."
