Susan's last name was spelled incorrectly as Hughes. Also, her date of death was given as February 4, 1909, and her date of burial was given as February 6, 1908. I was not able to find an obituary for Susan in either the 1908 or 1909 newspapers. However, according to an obituary found in the Ottumwa Tri-Weekly Courier on Tuesday, May 19, 1908, Susan's mother, Elizabeth Lewis, died May 18, 1908, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.C. Hugus, in Ottumwa, so Susan could not have been buried in February 1908. According to Susan's death certificate, she was the daughter of C.C., born in Kentucky, and Elizabeth (Horned) Wilson. On her marriage record, her parents are named as C.C. and Elizabeth (Harned) Wilson. According to both Susan's death record and the census records, her father was a doctor. Also, her death record gave her place of birth as Springfield, Iowa. I do not find a Springfield, Iowa, on the map, or in the drop-down menu on findagrave. However, Susie Wilson was in the 1885 Census for Delta, Iowa, and according to that census, she was born in Keokuk County.
