Susannah Kirkwood was born in Lancaster county, Penn., and when a child her parents moved to Mahoning county, Ohio, where she grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage with John Dole, Sept. 16, 1841. Four sons and three daughters were born to them, her husband, three sons and one daughter surviving her.
