Tingley of the Baptist church of this city, and attended by a host of sorrowing relatives and friends, burial in the Sparks cemetery. Susan Williams was born in Illinois, Nov. 6, 1847 and was in her 61st year at the time of her death. When four years of age she came with her family to Boone County and settled on a farm in Cass Township, where she continued to reside until her death. For fifty six years she has lived in the county and borne her full share in the development and prosperity of the county, of a kindly genial disposition and steadfast character, she numbered her friends by her acquaintance. Her husband and two children have preceded her in death. She is survived by her aged mother, now past 84 years old, four sons, Lee of Boone, George of Marcy Township and Wallace and Isaac living at home and one daughter, Mrs. W. O. Staley of Marcy Township, four sisters, Mrs. Meeker of Boone, who was with her constantly and cared for her during her last illness. Mrs. Sarah Miller of Marcy, Mrs. Mary Weyer of Cass and Mrs. Debora A. Sparks of Clarinda and three brothers, Soloman Williams of Cass, Thomas Williams of Sioux City. In her death the county loses one of its most prominent and best beloved pioneer settlers and her loss is sincerely mourned by all. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
