Read More	Funeral Services for Mrs. Susie Sigler Mrs. Susie Sigler passed away at her home in Carrollton on Sunday evening, March 28th, at 9:30 p.m. Had been ill for almost seven weeks, was confined to her bed for three weeks. She was taken sick with the flu and gradually grew worse, and finally developed into pneumonia. She was a wholesome, genial woman, always patient till the last always good natured. She was born in Scot county, Iowa on September 30th, 1857 and died March 28, having reached the age of 67 years, 5 months and 28 days. She came to Carroll county with her parents in 1871, was united in marriage to J.W. Sigler the 27th day of May, 1877. To this union seven children were born they are as follows: Emma Gillfillan, Sioux City; Frank Sigler, Scranton; Ira Sigler, Le Sueur, Minn.; Mamie Visner, Le Sueur; Matson Sigler, Carrollton; Ada Johnson, Le Mont, Ill.; and one deceased in infancy. All the children were here at the time of her death. She has two living sisters, Mrs. Libby Martin, Coon Rapids, and Mrs. Addie McKenzie, of Modesto, Calif. She leaves a host of friends and fifteen grandchildren. She will be greatly missed in the community where she lived, for she was always a helping hand in times of sickness. She united with the United Brethren Church at Old Carrollton in December 1913, and was baptized on Sunday, July 22nd, 1917, and was laid to rest beside her husband in the Carrollton cemetery. The Pallbearers were as follows: Thomas Conner, Warren Conner, Carney Conner, Herald Conner, Dewey Conner, Abe Conner. These six men carried their aunt to her resting place where she awaits the resurrection morning. The scripture text used for the sermon was Matthew 7:20 “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know the.” Card of Thanks The family wishes to thank all the friends and neighbors for their help and kindness during the sickness and death of their dear mother, also for the floral offering.
