Description	:	Boone County Democrat June 13, 1912 Boone Iowa Swan Anderson, one of the best known pioneer Swedish residents of the county, passed away at his home northeast of the city Thursday June 6th, at the age of 78 years, 2 months and 21 days. He was born in Sweden March 12, 1834. He grew to man hood in his native country and was there united in marriage with Miss Justina Swanson on June 3, 1859. Read More	Boone County Democrat June 13, 1912 Boone Iowa Swan Anderson, one of the best known pioneer Swedish residents of the county, passed away at his home northeast of the city Thursday June 6th, at the age of 78 years, 2 months and 21 days. He was born in Sweden March 12, 1834. He grew to man hood in his native country and was there united in marriage with Miss Justina Swanson on June 3, 1859. To them were born ten children, two having died in infancy. In 1869 Mr. Anderson came to America and settled in Illinois where his family joined him a year later. In 1874 they came to Boone county and settled on a farm in Jackson township, which has been the family home since. Mrs. Anderson preceded her husband in death two years ago and since then he has made his home with his children. He was a member of the Swedish Mission church, a consistent Christian and a most devoted husband and father and kind neighbor and friend, highly esteemed by all who knew him. The funeral services were held from the Swedish Mission church at 2:00 o’clock Sunday afternoon conducted by the rev. Hedstrom in Swedish and the Rev. A.L. Golden in English. The services were attended by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends, burial in the family lot in Linwood cemetery. Mr. Anderson leaves to mourn his loss six sons, Justus, Frank, Claus and Andrew of Des Moines township, and Oscar of Los Angeles, California, and two daughters, Mrs. Olive Jacobson and Mrs. Amanda Nelson of Boone county, also twenty three grand children. The children, grand children and other relatives have the sincere sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their bereavement.
